Our Mission

NCOLC’s mission is to permanently protect the natural heritage of North Central Ohio and educate the public about the importance of natural areas.

Our People

Protecting the land is what drives us, but our passion for people makes the work meaningful.

People who have yet to discover the joy, the solace, the inspiration of the places we protect, need to have them protected until they can discover what they are missing.

NCOLC is thankful for the hikers who enjoy our trails, the volunteers who maintain our preserves and help with programs, and the donors who support our mission.

“Healing Land and People” has dual benefits

Volunteers are precious, join us!

You are invited to get involved in our nature preserves! Our volunteers maintain trails, lead walks, track species, remove invasives, take photos and much more. All you need to get started is an appreciation for nature.

NCOLC addresses two epidemics – invasive plants in our forests and addiction in our community. Our Healing Land and People program pays people in recovery from addiction to remove non-native invasive plants from our nature preserves.

When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.
